One of our dedicated London engineers, Sean Ritchie, recently embarked on an unforgettable journey with his Ref-Sol uniform in tow, showcasing our brand from the bustling streets of London to the majestic peaks of the Andes.
The Journey Begins
On the 16th of July, 2024, Sean, along with his wife and son, set off from London, flying first to Madrid and then onwards to Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru. This trip was no ordinary holiday—it was a special celebration for his wife’s milestone birthday, and what better way to mark the occasion than with an epic adventure across South America?
Exploring the Amazon Rainforest
From Lima, the Ritchie family ventured into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Surrounded by the lush, untamed beauty of one of the world’s most biodiverse regions, Sean described the rainforest as the highlight of their trip. The immersive experience of the Amazon's sights, sounds, and vibrant wildlife left an indelible mark on their hearts.
Ascending to Cusco
Next, they flew to Cusco, the historical city perched 11,000 feet above sea level. Known as the gateway to the Andes, Cusco is the second-highest city in the world. Here, Sean and his family felt the effects of altitude sickness but were awed by the city’s rich history and stunning architecture.
The Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu
From Cusco, they travelled to the Sacred Valley, a region that encapsulates the heart of Inca history. After exploring the valley’s archaeological treasures, they boarded a train to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu. The ancient Inca city, with its mystical ruins and breathtaking views, was a pinnacle of their journey.
Returning Home
Their return journey took them back through Cusco, then Lima, and onwards to Brazil before finally landing at Heathrow. Each step of their adventure was filled with incredible experiences, but the Amazon rainforest remained the standout favourite for Sean and his family.
A Global Ambassador for Ref-Sol
Throughout his travels, Sean proudly wore his Ref-Sol uniform, becoming a global ambassador for our brand. His journey not only celebrated a milestone birthday but also exemplified the spirit of adventure and dedication that we value at Ref-Sol.
