How effective are Daikin air purifiers?

How effective are Daikin air purifiers?

When you invest in a Daikin air purifier, you want to be sure you're getting the best results. That's why we’re proud to say our products are tested by prestigious authorities including the Institut Pasteur de Lille, British Allergy Foundation UK and European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF).

Air quality in your home is more important than ever. We’re an “indoor generation”, spending 90% of our time inside, but many of us are unaware that the air quality in our homes can be up to five times lower than outdoors.

Though invisible, air pollution is a serious issue - but Daikin air purifiers provide an effective solution, ensuring the air you and your family breathe is cleaner and healthier.

Daikin’s air purifiers are known for their effectiveness, thanks to the high-performance electrostatic HEPA filter, a highly efficient system that's designed to remove small particles. Our patented Streamer technology is designed to eliminate viruses and allergens with accuracy.

Even though the threat of COVID-19 is subsiding, the world has learned the importance of clean air and its health benefits, from decreasing the number of environmental triggers for conditions like asthma and allergies to reducing the spread of airborne diseases. Cleaner indoor air can also protect against outdoor pollutants such as smog and smoke. When you choose a Daikin air purifier, we want you to have complete peace of mind.

We want to make sure you’re getting the very best in air purification, so we’ve collaborated with leading experts in the field to test our products. We’ve received test results from some of the world’s most renowned institutions.

How are Daikin air purifiers tested against respiratory viruses?

Daikin has always been first with innovative solutions, so we’re keen to test the effectiveness of our air purifiers. We asked the renowned French laboratory Institut Pasteur de Lille (IPL) to rigorously test our units* and we are proud to share two of the most important results we received from them.

  • Daikin’s air purifiers eliminate more than 99.9% of the human coronavirus HCoV-229E in 2.5 minutes. This virus is of the same family as SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus causing the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The units have also been evaluated as 99.9% effective against the H1N1 virus (which causes common flu) in 2.5 minutes.

This means Daikin’s air purifiers can help in the fight against respiratory diseases as the compact plug-and-play purifier can strongly contribute to reducing the risk of respiratory virus transmission.

Daikin’s seal of approval from the Institut Pasteur de Lille is important to us: the Institut was founded in 1894 to respond to epidemics and is still a leading body in promoting disease prevention and good hygiene measures today. The Institut Pasteur de Lille, with its 33 research teams, only works with carefully selected partners, so trusting Daikin’s products through its rigorous testing speaks volumes about our quality.

We know you want to keep your home safe and stop the spread of respiratory viruses – and we’re proud to be helping you do that with our tried-and-tested air purifiers.

How can a Daikin air purifier help with allergies?

As we spend more time indoors, allergies are on the rise and it's vital to minimise irritants and pollutants.

Daikin’s air purifiers can stop allergens caused by pets, smoke and other irritants before they become a problem. We’re pleased to say some of our units have the Allergy UK Seal of Approval, which means they’ve been certified as efficient at reducing small particles including allergens, bacteria, and viruses.

The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation has also tested Daikin’s air purifiers and found them to be allergy friendly. The ECARF criteria is regularly updated to reflect the latest scientific findings, so the seal of approval is proof of Daikin's high standards.

With results from three renowned institutions, you'll have peace of mind that by choosing Daikin you're getting the clean air you and your family need around your home.
